Anyone that has had any experience hunting predators can attest – the danger is in a wounded animal.
Al-Qaida is that animal. Now they offer a truce – with a few caveats. Let them rebuild Iraq and Afghanistan, therefore controlling resources and political power in a world where “if I say I won, I must have won!”.
The truth on the ground is not what we perceive, it is what the people locally perceive.
